Holy mackerel, just over a week until Christmas, folks! Naturally, we’ve got a lot of seasonal options for our things to do round-up in Vancouver this weekend. Especially if (fingers crossed), we get to see a little bit of snow over the next few days. Not too much, though- we don’t want to be stranded picking up groceries or something.

Here’s something that’s more than worth the SeaBus over there. The Shipyards Skate Plaza, the largest ice skating surface in the region, has reopened for the winter! Take in gorgeous views of the city’s skyline and enjoy a bunch of nearby amenities. Plus, if you bring your own skates, it’s free!

If you’re willing to drive a little bit, then the Heritage Village Museum in Burnaby is a great choice. Not only is this already impressive heritage village worth a trip in and of itself, but it’s been transformed for the holiday season with light installations. The best part? It’s free!

An absolutely classic holiday option, the Vancouver Christmas Market has got something for just about everyone. Enjoy some seasonal treats and drinks, browse the local vendors, and enjoy free live entertainment while you’re at it!

The last of the Metro Vancouver mountains has opened for the season, folks! Mount Seymour waited a little bit longer to open, and we’re hoping that means they’ve got even more snow for you to zoom down on the weekend.

Maybe a full day of skiing isn’t really your vibe, but you still want to get outside this weekend. Another great option is the Lights to the Lodge, a snowshoe light walk that will have you exploring Cypress Mountain’s nordic area, their historic Hollyburn Lodge, and more!

The PNE’s drive-through holiday experience is back! Load up the car with friends or family and go enjoy nine different light display areas, ranging from ‘Polar North’ to ‘Santa Street’. Really kick of the festivity by grabbing a hot chocolate at the start of the experience, too.

Well well well, if it isn’t our most consistent pick for things to do this month. What can we say? If we had to pick one holiday experience to check out in Vancouver, this would be it. The price is right, the setting is nice, and the lights are stunning!
