Some things are just meant to go together. Toppin’ that list? None other than summer and beer. Luckily, Vancouver’s own Steamworks Brewing knows a thing (or tons) when it comes to crafting delicious, high-quality, local brews.
Our newest Steamworks obsession? The ultimate crowd-pleasing summer brew- the Lions Gate Lager. If uncomplicated, refreshing, and seriously good craft lager is your thing… you’re welcome, team. ‘Cause we’ve just put you onto a new fave.
So with summer around the corner (and the long weekend finally here!), we’ve teamed up with them to bring you a list of the best Lower Mainland parks to enjoy a good ol’ summer brew.
Let’s get to it!
If finding a park that doubles as a photo op is on your list, Waterfront Park is not one to sleep on! Located along the harbour and offering up incredible city views, there’s a reason this place tops our list of fave spots to enjoy a nice cold one.
Where: Block, 200 Esplanade W, North Vancouver, BC
If taking in the views of the Burrard Inlet wasn’t enough to entice us, checkin’ out the pups at the off-leash area at Kings Mill Walk Park sure is.
Where: Harbourside Pl, North Vancouver, BC
As one of Vancouver’s oldest parks and boasting some amenities, sports facilities, and tons of nature- Mahon Park was just bound to make it on the list.
Where: 1648 Jones Avenue, North Vancouver, BC
Takin’ a stroll along the boardwalk on the Fraser River and then rewarding ourselves with a nice cold beer? Don’t mind if we do.
Where: 2252 Castle Crescent, Port Coquitlam, BC
The name says it all here, team. If you’re looking to snag a nice quiet spot to crack a cold one, Peace Park is the place to be.
Where: 1470 Kebet Way, Port Coquitlam, BC
Gates Park is certainly not redefining the game, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great place to hang out with your bubble and a case of Lions Gate Lager!
Where: 2300 Reeve St, Port Coquitlam, BC
What’s better than sitting on the beach enjoying some drinks? Honestly… we can’t think of much. Guess that’s why we’re fans of Cates Deck.
Where: 4141 Dollarton Hwy, North Vancouver, BC
Vancouver is filled with incredible tree-lined green space and Victoria Park West is no exception. Located in the heart of North Vancouver, it’s a welcome spot to enjoy some brews (and even check out some Vancouver history while we’re at it!)
Where: 650 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC
If you’ve lived in Vancouver for a while, then you know that The Shipyards is a dynamite spot. With an open-air alcohol-friendly park surrounded by shops, restaurants, picnic tables and pretty much everything you would want from a park. This place is definitely one of our faves.
Where: 125 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver, BC
With tons of green space to spread out, MacLean Park is makin’ the list of our fave parks to grab some easy-drinking local beer, some lawn games and just unwind!
Where: 710 Keefer St, Vancouver, BC
There you have it! Some of Vancouver’s best legal drinking parks where you can enjoy a brew. And when it comes to choosing what to bring? What better option than Vancouver-born and brewed Lions Gate Lager.
Whether you’re bringing your own case, or grabbin’ a pint on the Steamworks Brewpub patio with some food… you can’t go wrong with this summertime go-to. Brewed with premium malts and European hops, this is a beer sure to satisfy any palate.
