February is on our heels and the snow doesn’t seem to be going anywhere! For us Albertans, this only means one thing! We’re about to enter another 28 days of wintery bliss, powder happy adventures, and cozy wear. Let’s get out and about, friends! Here are 10 things to do in the mountains this February!

WATCH A MAGICAL SUNSET DURING THE ALPENGLOW FESTIVAL

Prepare to be amazed, Alberta. Starting in early February, you can hit Banff’s highly anticipated, incredibly magical, Alpenglow Festival! Peer through telescopes, roast marshmallows, and indulge in a five-star meal at the tip-top of the Rockies. You won’t want to miss it!

UNPLUG AT THE BAKER CREEK MOUNTAIN RESORT

Looking for a weekend away? Turn your cellphones off, and enjoy the simple life at Baker Creek Mountain Resort, an authentically Canadian place to really take in the beauty of the Rockies. Enjoy lantern-lit meals, go for walks or snowmobile rides, and cozy up next to each other fireside under the stars.

WALK THROUGH THE ICE CAVES AT MALIGNE CANYON

GO TUBING AT MOUNT NORQUAY

This February hit the hills! We know that not everyone is comfortable on a pair of skis – heck, we’re with you! This is why we’re a big fan of Mount Norquay’s inner tube park. Almost anyone can enjoy the breeze, the snow, and themselves with this adrenaline-inducing activity.

GO FOR A SLEIGH RIDE AT BOUNDARY RANCH

Deep in the Rocky Mountains, you’ll find Alberta’s beautiful Boundary Ranch. Here, guests can take a scenic sleigh or dog sled ride, relax by a campfire, roast marshmallows, drink hot cocoa, and take in some fresh air before heading home. It really is THE perfect day trip excursion.

This magical spot is world-renowned for its unparalleled beauty in the winter, so whether you stay the night in the Chateau or you just pass-through for a day-skate and wander – there is no doubt that you’ll win big points for visiting.

SKATE THE BUBBLES AT ABRAHAM LAKE

Grab the hand of someone special, lace up your skates, and do a few laps on a sheet of Alberta’s most unique ice. Deep in the mountains, between snow-covered peaks, you’ll find Abraham Lake, a hidden gem of mystery and wonder!

GO HELI-SKIING

This one can cost a pretty penny, but if your a fan of the sport and have the change – it’s well worth the money. This February check out one of CMH Heli-skiing’s custom experiences. During this unique excursion, you and your social bubble will see the mountains above, as well as below – in all of their snowy beauty. Trust us, they’re worth seeing from every angle.
