Over a million dazzling lights will brighten a Calgary hotspot this holiday season

Bigger, brighter, and bolder. The Calgary Zoolights will return this season and, as always, should not be missed.

A beloved tradition celebrated by families, couples, and friends, this year’s festival will kick off on November 15th and will run until January 5th, 2025— but you’ll want to plan ahead!

What’s new at the zoo?

Due to its popularity, we’d recommend getting your tickets early, especially because there are several new things to do, see, and explore in 2024.

In addition to a skating rink (with rentals), their Snow Globe dining experience, axe-throwing stations, and delicious treats, visitors will also be able to frolic through the “Festive Forest” and take a selfie from Santa’s sleigh.

What’s more, there will be a unique light show on Discovery Bridge, a “lemur Tale” light display, red, green, and yellow lights set to a glowing drum display in Exploration Asia, the Aurora Garden, and a Merry and Bright Tree Trail.

Described as having colourful ground lighting and “a choreographed light display set to a holiday soundtrack,” this installation is going to be wildly enchanting.

Want to check it out?

According to the Calgary Zoo, “It takes approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours to experience all that ZOOIGHTS has to offer,’ so dress warm!

To get your tickets head to their website now and enjoy.

It’s going to be a good one!
