You can find life-sized plastic beachgoers at the Toronto Harbourfront this weekend

A poignant art installation is headed to Toronto’s Harbourfront this weekend. Presented by Corona Canada, folks can stop by to check out a collection of life-sized plastic beachgoers. The eye catching exhibit will be on display from 9AM-6PM for two days only.

The Corona Canada Plastic Beachgoers were made to raise awareness for Canada’s pollution problem. The sculptures are made entirely from pieces of plastic removed from Canada’s shoreline. Did you know Canadians use over 125 kilograms of plastic per person every year? Now you do! That’s almost twice the average person’s body weight. Yikes!

While you’re marvelling at the installation, you can also scan an onsite QR code to learn more about Corona Canada’s environmental initiatives. The brand has partnered with Ocean Wise to implement a program called the The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

Since 2017, Corona has cleaned over 1.6 million square metres of Canadian shoreline. In fact, for every specially marked case of Corona sold, the brand will clear another square metre of shoreline. The goal is to hit 2 million square metres by the end of 2021.
