Ah, celebrities, always down for a laugh. In case you missed it, Kim Kardashian-West shared a rather ill-advised update about renting a private island for her fam in order to find some normalcy amid the pandemic. Despite the post being tone-deaf, it did spark our curiosity, so we decided to see what Canada’s private island rentals are like. *Note: COVID restrictions that are currently in place may affect the amount of people allowed at rentals around Canada. Be sure to check local regulations before renting anywhere in the country.

But that’s ok, we’ll get over it. And, it’ll be pretty easy to do so. Maybe we’ll cozy up with a book in the house, or strut outside to get a fire going. If this was the summer, we’d also take advantage of the kayaking and boating options, but hey, we can’t win ’em all.

The best part of all this? Getting here with your friends won’t cost the same amount as a house. Since the cabin can sleep up to 12 people (barring COVID-19 restrictions), the $600 or so a night all of a sudden becomes a lot more reasonable. Heck, even with 5 of your closest friends it’s a bargain.
