Sun’s out, buns out: The World Naked Bike Ride is coming to Vancouver

If you’re good with nudity, read on and get ready for an exciting ride. The city’s positive protest against car culture, oil spills, and pipeline development is back, and the dress code is “as bare as you dare.” That’s right, this year’s World Naked Bike Ride is officially slated for the end of June.

The event’s organizers have planned inclusive, body-positive naked bike rides in cities around the globe, all of which have seen a ton of success every year.

This year’s route is set to be around 8-10 km with easy elevation – so bikers of all abilities are encouraged to participate.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 24th, starting at noon. Rally your friends together and get ready to start riding at 3 pm, as per their event post on Facebook.

We suggest getting there a little early and applying a ton of sunblock (and body paint from noon until 3 pm!) before the ride begins.

As always, come prepared with layers, close-toed shoes, a helmet, and water to rehydrate. In terms of “how bare is bare,” it’s really up to you. Dress up in recycled Halloween costumes, rave wear, your fave swimsuit or bikini, or strip down to the ultimate ‘birthday suit.’

Nipple pasties and body art are welcome, as are normal clothes if you prefer to participate that way.

Mark your calendars, Vancouver, and enjoy the ride!
