In case you didn’t know, The Woodland Park Zoo has a 6-week old baby gorilla. And of course, it’s time to name her so the zoo went for something extra special. They’ve decided on naming her Zuna which means “sweet” in the African language Lingala. And with one look at her, we think that name is definitely fitting.

Guess what? Washington was just ranked the best state in the nation!

In other news, one of the zoo’s fluffiest and cutest residents is finding a new home at the Memphis Zoo. That’s right, Hazel the red panda is moving on after being an excellent mom to her cubs Tián and Zan. And her move is actually part of the red panda Species Survival Plan so it’s for the best.

If you haven’t visited the zoo in a while, now might just be the time to do so. Because you can welcome Zuna and wish Hazel good luck in her new home. Plus the zoo is always a good time and we’re lucky to one as amazing and sophisticated as the Woodland Park Zoo.
