This winter festival will take you on horse-drawn sleigh rides through downtown Edmonton

This November, downtown Edmonton will come alive with the coziest winter festival in the city.

Winterval is Edmonton’s most epic winter festival, with 104th Street coming alive in the most fantastic way. With local businesses joining the celebration with giveaways, in-store specials, and seasonal treats, it makes for the most exciting festival. Not to mention the many activities and events throughout the evening— it’s a whole winter wonderland!

What to expect

Walk through the historic 104th Street on Nov. 22 for the festival of a lifetime.

Whether it’s taking a ride on the horse-drawn sleigh carriages or taking part in ice carving lessons, there’s so much going on for everybody. There are warm-up stations all around, so don’t worry about getting cold at the coolest festival in Edmonton.

For those looking to take this festival up a notch, there will be an Après Ski Area. Skip the skis, just feel the vibes with DJs, dancing, giveaways, and a mobile sauna.

You can also see street performers take to 104th Street and make some moves. Or, you can take some photos at the many photo ops or even with the Forest Guides by Ken Hacke, the beautiful, glowing ice-like sculptures.

Kids can be entertained with street hockey, take photos with Santa, and even enjoy free maple taffy from Canadian Maple Shack!

Nearby businesses will also be offering free treats and discounts to celebrate.

DeVine Wines and Spirits will be serving complimentary warm drinks, with or without the spirits. Credo Coffee will be giving out free kids’ drinks and cookies for all, and The Cavern will offer a fondue cheese dog and mulled wine special. Finally, you can warm up with a free hot chocolate or tea at Tony the Tailor.

This festival will be a good one, so don’t miss out on downtown Edmonton bursting with energy this November!
