There’s a 45-foot-tall ferris wheel coming to downtown Toronto & here’s why

Toronto’s popular tourist spot, Yonge-Dundas Square is getting a fun holiday carnival event starting next week. Winter Glow will be taking over the square with a 45-foot-tall Ferris Wheel and massive carousel, along with many more midway games and carnival treats. Here’s what to know.

Winter Glow will kick off on December 14th and run until December 23rd. All are welcome to enjoy popular carnival rides, including Astro Amusements’ 45-foot-tall Ferris Wheel and the Great Canadian Carousel.

“Yonge-Dundas Square is known for the bright lights and billboards that surround it, we’re excited to add to that. Winter Glow is a great way to spend an evening out with friends, part of a date night, a spot for family fun, or a holiday shopping break for passersby,” said Julian Sleath, General Manager of Yonge-Dundas Square.

“We thank our presenting partners for helping us make Winter Glow a reality this holiday season, and we look forward to the possibilities of even more Winter Glow in the future.”

According to the press release, visitors can treat themselves to a number of carnival treats like cotton candy, popcorn, candy apples, churros, hot chocolate, and more.

Along with all the carnival fun, the Rotary Club of Toronto will have a 40-foot-tall Tree of Remembrance that will have hearts aglow.

Those interested can donate to get a yellow ribbon to write a message to a loved one that will then be attached to the tree.

The holiday experience will run throughout the week from 4 PM to 10 PM and weekdays from 12 PM to 10 PM.

Make sure to stop by and check it out after you’ve finished that much-needed shopping list.
