Canada’s largest FREE outdoor light festival is back with 40 nights of fireworks

Feast your eyes on this stunning light spectacle that fills the night sky at the 40th annual Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara. Canada’s largest free outdoor light festival is coming back with millions of lights on display.

From November 12, 2022 to February 20, 2023, Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara will welcome all to experience a night of “larger-than-life’ displays. They’re worth every picture!

“Illuminations include more than 50 larger-than-life displays and dozens of trees wrapped in lights along the Niagara Parkway, including Canadian wildlife displays, the two-story tall Zimmerman Fountain, a Gingerbread house, 60ft light tunnel, castle, and more,” states the festival.

Expect over three million lights and over 75 spectacular displays that will transform Niagara Falls into a winter wonderland. Go for a drive or take a stroll through NEW displays and themed illumination areas like the Royal Promenade, Frosted Falls, Enchanted Forest, and Great Canadian North.

In honour of its 40th anniversary, you can enjoy 40 nights of free indoor family entertainment from magicians to jugglers and more. Head to the Crowne Plaza Fallsview Hotel for a full schedule of live performers and Americana Waterpark Resort & Spa for face painters, balloon twisters, glitter tattoos and so much more.

On top of that, enjoy 40 nights of dazzling holiday fireworks to set you into the joyous spirit.

Here’s the firework schedule in case you wanted to know:

  • November: 12, 18-19, 25-26 at 8:00 PM
  • December: 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 26-31 at 8:00 PM
  • December 31 * NYE at 12:00 AM
  • January: 1-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28 at 8:00 PM
  • February: 3-4, 10-11, 17-20 at 8:00 PM

And expect a special illumination of the Falls every night, a Niagara Falls Hot Chocolate Trail, Free photos with Santa in December, and more.

There’s just so much to see and do! This is the ultimate holiday experience.
