Wildlife photography can result in some truly incredible images. However, it’s often a genre reserved for more experienced photographers. Capturing wildlife can often require a fair bit of patience, knowledge of the area, and impressive camera gear to avoid getting too close to the subjects.
But practice makes perfect, which is why the Calgary Zoo is giving photographers a chance to hone their skills at FOCUSED: Wild Canada.
FOCUSED, presented by The Camera Store, allows shutterbugs ages 16 and older to get special early access to Wild Canada before the zoo opens its doors.
Visitors can capture stunning pictures in an environment free of distractions on Saturday, March 1, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. All skill levels are welcome!
It’s an easy opportunity to photograph breathtaking animals. These include the North American River Otters, Bighorn Sheep, and Siku, the resident polar bear!
The zoo’s Animal Care, Health & Welfare team is hosting the event, and they’re excited to share their passion for animals with the crowd. They’ll create special enrichment and feeding opportunities throughout the morning that will result in fantastic photos.
Tickets are $50 plus GST. Wild Adventurer members can get a reduced rate of $30 plus GST. Admission includes day access to the zoo following the event.
Secure your tickets online and get ready to hone your photography skills at this unique event.
When: Saturday, March 1, 2025, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Where: Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo — 210 St. George’s Dr. N.E.
Cost: $50 + GST, or $30 + GST for Wild Adventurer members
