This new TV series is casting extras in southern Alberta right now

If you’ve always wanted to be immortalized on film, a new TV series that is shooting in southern Alberta soon is looking for extras.

The series is titled Wildflower and is being made by a large unnamed streaming service, and will be shooting in Calgary, Nanton and the Priddis/Millarville areas. Filming dates start at the end of this month and run until the end of October, and it is looking to give off a “modern-day, small-town Montana vibe.”

The call out is for union and non-union extras, adults of all ethnicities to play ranchers, cowgirls, and townsfolk between 18 and 80 years old. High school students of all ethnicities are also being requested between the ages of 14 and 17 years old, according to a Facebook post by the IATSE Local 212.

If you are interested in participating in the series, you’re asked to send a current selfie picture or headshot to wildflowerextras2026@gmail.com.

Your photo must be unfiltered, can be shot indoors or outdoors, but not sitting in a car. Hair also must be down, no hats except for cowboy hats, and no sunglasses.

In the email, you must specify your age, experience, location, and any unique talents you may possess, like bartending, bowling, etc.

It’s been a busy July for streaming service content filmed in Alberta. Earlier this month, it was revealed that a limited series shot in the province starring Melissa McCarthy will be landing on Netflix later this winter.
