Hello Vancouver! Welcome to our latest instalment of things to do in the city this weekend! The weekend is filled to the brim with fun activities, so make sure you get out and about and enjoy the summer. We know we sure will.

By going and seeing the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra play the music from Bugs Bunny. Come on, you didn’t think we were going to recommend actually going to the opera, did you?

Well, it’s definitely a niche market, but you do have the option to go on a bike rave this week. Basically, you ride around with a bunch of ‘ultra-fun, open-minded’ people while listening to music. Heck, maybe you just need to switch up your workout routine.

Parallel 49 is hosting a few beer gardens this summer, with live music and a taco truck. Although, we’re only heading down there to enjoy the sunshine and $5 beers. How can you go wrong with that?

Where: 1950 Triumph Street
Head on down to the Hastings Race Course for a day of watching hilarious dog races. Races take place in between real horse races, so you get a nice mix of irreverent fun and actual gambling opportunities. It’s a win-win.

You get to fundraise. You get to look at art. There will be beer involved, and you’re on a bike. Could you ask for a better way to spend a weekend? We think not. Proceeds go towards the Eastside Culture Crawl Society.

A huge event going down on Boundary Road in East Van. Swing by for delicious Greek fare, live music and family-friendly activities. Running for 10 days, this one is easy to stop in at if you want to.

Running at the same time as Greek Summerfest, this 10-day festival focuses on diverse artists and events. Featuring novelists, stand-up comedians, musicians and storytellers, you’ll be hard pressed to not find anything up your alley.
