8 things to do at home and around Vancouver this weekend (May 22-24)
Howdy folks, and welcome to the latest roundup of the stuff we think you should do this weekend in Vancouver. And frankly, you’ve got options. The whole ‘reopening BC’ has really, well, opened up BC. So whatever you’re feeling this weekend, we think we’ve got you covered.
Here are 8 things to do this weekend at home and around Vancouver.
Or at least plan to get back in shape. As part of Phase 2, gyms and fitness centres across the Lower Mainland are allowed to reopen. We picked three in Vancouver that we like, but check in with your local spot for updates too.
Another aspect of Phase 2 is that restaurants can offer dine-in services. The rules have changed, but hey, if you’ve been dying to have a nice sit-down meal, then your time is now. Click the link for our first 5 picks of spots around the city that we’re eyeing.
The last major change this week? You guessed it- retail stores are also reopening. From Aritzia to Nordstrom, Vancouver’s retail scene is staging a comeback, and it all starts this weekend basically.
This might be a top pick for us off of this list. The PNE is hosting a mini donut drive-thru this weekend, and in addition to a bunch of donuts online tickets come with 2 complimentary admissions to PNE Playland next year. Mini donuts and a crazy discount on Playland? We can’t pass it up.
And if you must go, now you can! As of last weekend, a fair portion of BC’s provincial parks has reopened for day use. Feel like communing with nature a little bit? Perfect, so do we. See you (safely) on the trails.
And still enjoy beautiful plants! Maybe this is the weekend where you decide to book a little trip to VanDusen and immerse yourself in some flora. We have a feeling it’ll be a rejuvenating experience, but that’s just our opinion!
Tour Animal Crossing Islands on Youtube
We don’t know about you guys but quarantine has definitely brought us back to playing some of our favourite games. And well we’ve been blown away by the creativity of players in Animal Crossing New Horizons. That being said, we haven’t seen anyone who’s designed an island that looks like Vancouver… Maybe that could be you.
Why not spend these days expanding your mind? There are tons of super addictive docuseries out on Netflix right now. And these ones are sure to keep you entertained.
And that’s our roundup of the best things to do at home and around Vancouver this weekend! We hope you enjoy it, folks!
