If you were hoping to get some last-minute spring skiing in this year, it’s looking like that’s out of the question. Due to the recent provincial health order, Whistler Blackcomb is halting its winter operations. Disappointing, but fair!

They have said that they’re starting to prepare for the summer season, so it looks like we’ll be able to go mountain biking or hiking this summer!

The closure is due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the province, but specifically in Whistler. Hopefully, this closure cools off the transmission and allows us to get things a bit more under control.

This is just one of a few different COVID restrictions popping up in the province right now, which you can get the full low-down on here.

The resort will be getting in contact with people who’ve paid for tickets, reservations and other expenses for refunds.

While it sucks to see things close down, it’s always good to remember that it’s for a good reason. Plus, it allows them to focus more on opening up safely in the summer months. Learn more about the closure, and what the mountain’s up to, right here.

Hope to see ya’ll on the slopes soon!
