Ready to go skating in a winter wonderland? Then you need to check out the mountainside ice skating offered at Apex Mountain Resort. Located just outside of Penticton, this gem of the interior offers one of the coolest and most quintessentially Canadian activities across the country.

That’s because in addition to being a great spot for skiing, Apex maintains a 1-kilometre long ice skating loop at the base of the mountain. This track winds through a forested area, so you’ll truly feel like some kind of messenger in Greenland or something. We don’t know, this is a new feeling for us!

So here’s what we think you should do. Keep Apex Mountain Resort in the back of your mind over these next few weeks. Maybe you could sneak out with some friends for a few days of skiing, skating and fun. Or, what about a nice surprise weekend getaway with your significant other come Valentine’s Day? You’ve got options, folks.

Even if you don’t decide to ski, there are still tons of ways to fill the day here. Start off with some snowshoeing, or hit the tube park. Heck, you could even wait and get a few laps in for night skiing instead! Although, we recommend doing the skating loop at dusk at trying to catch the sundown. We think that would definitely bring the coolest views.

So keep Apex Mountain Resort in mind through the winter, folks! Maybe see you over there?
