Vancouver was just named the friendliest city in the world

Via Tourism Vancouver

Well, the housing market might not be the best, but you can take solace in knowing that Vancouver is the friendliest city in the world, according to Big 7 Travel. The popular Instagram account recently polled their followers, and we came out on top of a list of 50.

There are only 2 Canadian cities that made the list, with Montreal ranking in at number 34. Seems kinda weird given our nation’s reputation, but hey, maybe not enough people are coming to Canada.

The top ten included Taipei, Dublin, Christchurch and Nashville. It also included Bruges, which is funny because the only experience we have with the Belgian town is a lovely little film about assassins. Maybe we should check it out.

Anyway, Vancouver is the friendliest city thanks to ‘extraordinarily friendly residents’ and ‘an amazing cultural community’. While we definitely agree with the latter claim, from the comments on the list people aren’t maybe so down with the first.
