We all know that the time we’re living through is going to go down in history. But history is starting now. In fact, UBC has created Canada’s first university course on how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting society.

There are already over 270 UBC students signed up for this for-credit course. In this course, they will be learning about the pandemic through an evidence-based sociological perspective. Which we’re big fans of because sometimes the overly scientific stuff can get too number intensive.

And while students will be learning, they’ll also have the opportunity to explore their experience living through this time. Not to mention, their final project for this course will have them working with a community partner to develop tools to teach the public about COVID-19.

So while we feel like we’ve learned plenty about what it means to live during a pandemic, this course is pretty dang cool. And if you have the opportunity to take it, you definitely should. And of course, if you’d like to learn more, you can click here.
