One of our favourite parts about Toronto is that it’s constantly getting better. Sure, the all-over construction may be a touch inconvenient right now. But if it means our city will blossom into its amazing full potential down the road, we’re all for it. Today, we’ll be discussing yet another development plan in the works in the 6ix. It’s the ORCA Project.

So the ORCA Project is set to take over a pretty significant chunk of the city. The area above the rail corridor at Front St, between Bathurst and Blue Jays Way, is where this project is calling home. With easy access to transportation and mere steps from the waterfront, we can’t think of a better spot!

So what exactly is the ORCA Project? We’re glad you asked. The plan is to create a massive 16-acre mixed-use community, featuring perks like high-rise residential buildings, loads of green space, shopping, entertainment venues, and more.

As if that’s not exciting enough, the project is also running with some pretty stellar core guiding values. The goal is to create a socially-conscious development with affordable housing and sustainability in mind.

If you ask us, what we’ve seen of the project so far looks like an urban utopia. It’s the perfect blend of impressive architecture, tons of greenery, and state-of-the-art technology. Plus, it’s just straight-up aesthetically pleasing.

As it stands right now, things are still in the fairly early stages of development. Earlier this week, it was announced that Fengate Asset Management (on behalf of LiUNA Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada), CRAFT Development Group, and Kingsmen Group Inc., had joined forces on the project.
