Celebrate the bounty of the changing seasons with a road trip to Abbotsford or Vernon, or keep things local right here in Metro Vancouver.

Here are 6 amazing apple-picking spots to check out in BC this fall.

Taves Family Farm

This family farm is a popular spot for all sorts of U-Pick options. And since it’s now officially apple season, it’s time to treat yourself to their tasty selection of apples. Currently, you can pick Honeycrisp apples and plums, and purchase Jonagolds at their farm store.

When: Daily, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
Where: 333 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford
Cost: $17.50 for an 8 lb bag of apples

If you’re into U-pick, this place does things a bit differently. In fact, they do orchard tours where you’re then able to pick what you’d like. So if you want to experience a new form of apple picking, you might just want to head to Davison Orchards. After all, it doesn’t get much more beautiful than Vernon during autumn. Currently, there are squash, apples, grapes, peppers, blueberries, pears, corn, and garlic available.

Note that it’s the final week for tomatoes and peppers!

When: Apple tours offered Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 4:30 pm until September 30th
Where: 3111 Davison Road, Vernon
Cost: Tour is $15 per person

Willow View Farms

This U-pick spot has been kicking for 28 years so, so clearly they’re doing something right! And if you’re looking for a variety of apples, you won’t be disappointed here. All tree fruits are $1.50/lb, and they currently have Gingergold, Gala and Alkmene apples and Asian pears available. As of September 20th, they’ll have Jonagold, Honeycrisp, Elstar, Alkmene & a limited amount of ripe Fuji apples.

Note that visitors are required to bring their own bags or boxes for apple picking.

When: Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 5:30 pm, Sundays from 11 am to 5:30 pm
Where: 288 McCallum Road, Abbotsford
Cost: $1.70 per lb for apples and pears

Paynter’s Fruit Market

This spot has you covered on multiple different kinds of produce, and apple picking is expected to last through October. Situated in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, Paynter’s Fruit Market makes for a fantastic stop on a fall road trip as well!

When: Daily, 9 am to 7 pm
Where: 3687 Paynter Road, Westbank
Cost: $3 per person + the cost of fruit by the lb

Southlands Heritage Farm

And while this spot isn’t a U-pick spot it’s certainly a special place in our city. Not to mention at this time you can grab apples and a whole lot more at their farmer’s markets. And if you’d like to visit the farm you can book a tour.

When: Monday to Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm, weekends from 9 am to 5 pm
Where: 6767 Balaclava Street
Cost: Admission by donation

UBC Apple Festival

The two-day festival features a food fair, live entertainment on the Great Lawn, and over 40 varieties of new & heritage BC apples available for tasting – all at the UBC Farm from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 14th and 15th.
