We have to say that we’ve loved the plazas popping up across the city throughout the pandemic. And luckily for Vancouver, we just got four more. But this time they’re rain friendly because we all know, there are few dry days during the winter.

The new Vancouver plazas were made possible thanks to our cities bridges. So you can now find plazas at the Cambie Bridge on both the North and South sides as well as on the North Side of the Burrard Bridge. Plus you expect to see picnic tables and even a ping pong table at one or two plazas. Which is pretty exciting if you ask us.

As you might have guessed, this decision came after increasing feedback for covered plazas. So we’re excited to see how these work and how the city will continue to get inventive. After all, the rain is here to stay and people will probably want even more outdoor space. So if you have any ideas maybe consider reaching out to the city.
