A few lucky Canucks players skated on top of a mountain earlier this month

A few current and past Canucks players had an unforgettable mountain top skating trip earlier this November. In fact, it was so high up, the players had to be helicoptered in. But luckily for us, the entire experience was recorded in Instagram posts and in a photo essay for the NYT.

Elias Pettersson, Thatcher Demko, Alex Edler, Zack MacEwen, Troy Stecher, and Jason Garrison got sky high to play all day north of Vancouver. And we have to say, the pictures probably don’t do the location justice. After all, we can’t imagine how spectacular that view must have been.

That being said, we’re pretty dang happy that photo evidence of this outing exists. Because when will we ever get to see the home team playing on top of a mountain? The answer is probably not anytime soon. And we’ll bet the Canucks are probably the only NHL team to pull a stunt like this.

If you’d like to see the whole experience we recommend checking out the NYT Photo essay linked above or by swiping through some insta posts. And we’ll be curious to see if any more fun pictures or videos come out. Because we’re sure everyone was snapping pics.
