A brand-new hotel is taking over the longstanding Four Seasons
Well folks, the end of January also marks the end of an era. After some four decades of operation, the Four Seasons Hotel will be closing its doors permanently. However, we’re happy to announce that Cadillac Fairview is moving a new hotel in. What’s more, construction starts this spring!
The group behind CF Pacific Centre broke the news via press release yesterday. Funnily enough, Pacific Centre actually predates the hotel by around 5 years. So, it’s fitting that Cadillac Fairview has led the charge for finding a replacement.

The name and the brand of the hotel were not released, sadly. But, Cadillac Fairview did offer a few clues as to what we can expect. First, the new occupant is branded as a ‘world-leading, luxury hotel’. Pretty straightforward. However, the second clue is that the brand itself is unique not only to Vancouver, but the rest of Canada.
See, now that’s something to chew on. As far as we know, the leading brands that have yet to come to Canada are Mandarin Oriental and Marriott’s St. Regis. There’s also Aman, but we think that might be too niche for the location. We know hotels, you see.
If we had a toonie, we’d bet on Mandarin Oriental to replace the Four Seasons Hotel. We’ll keep you updated as more info is released!
