Hey there folks, and welcome back to another instalment of our patio guide series. This time around, we’re focusing on Vancouver’s best waterfront patios. Let’s face it, sooner or later you’re going to want to be sipping some sangria seaside, and we can help with that.

Here are the 9 of Vancouver’s best waterfront patios.

Cardero’s

carderos

This one is right smack dab on the water downtown, so it’s kind of hard to beat it when it comes to waterfront patios. Pair that with tasty food and some great happy hour deals, and you’ve got one of the best patio experiences in the city.

Where: 1583 Coal Harbour Quay

Lift Bar and Grill

Just down the street from Cardero’s, Lift might just have the best waterfront patio views of Vancouver on this entire list. Pacific Northwest cuisine dominates the menu, and their happy hour features buck a shuck oysters. The best spot for your upcoming date with a person that just moved to the city and wants to chill by the water.

A sprawling waterfront patio right beside the walking path in Vancouver Olympic Village offers great views across the water. These guys are known for their great patios, so when in doubt, head to one of their locations.

When: Sunday to Thursday, 11AM-12AM and Friday/Saturday, 11AM-1AM
Where: 1 Athletes Way

Provence Marinaside

Just across the water from Tap and Barrel lies Provence Marinaside. A little more upscale, Provence does seafood forward French cuisine, so this is an ideal date night spot. Eat some lobster, then walk around either David Lam or Coopers’ Park.

Right at the bottom of the Lonsdale Quay lies Pier 7. We recommend taking the Seabus over in the morning, exploring the area a little bit (don’t forget to check out the Polygon Gallery), then chilling on their waterfront patio during happy hour.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:45AM-10PM and Saturday/Sunday, 10:30AM-10PM
Where: 25 Wallace Mews Road

Boathouse

Right beside Kits beach, The Boathouse is a great way to cap off a day of shopping and laying around on the beach. Try and find a timeframe when it’s not going to be too busy, like mid-afternoon, and enjoy people watching with a great background.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 11AM-9PM, Friday, 11AM-10PM, Saturday, 10AM-10PM and Sunday, 10AM-9PM

Cactus Club English Bay

Cactus Club on English probably has the best setting for a patio in the city. It’s super busy in the summer, so make sure you pick a time to eat where you’ll actually be able to sit on the patio, otherwise, you’ll be better off eating at another spot in the West End.

Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 11AM-12AM and Friday/Saturday, 11AM-1AM
Where: 1790 Beach Avenue

Ancora False Creek

ancora

Waterfront dining and delicious Peruvian Japanese fusion make Ancora a no-brainer. The spot in False Creek is one of the best open patios in the city. These guys also get to claim that their food is the best on this list (well, actually, we’re claiming it).

Hours: Lunch Sunday to Friday, 12PM-3PM, Dinner Daily, 5PM-10: 30 PM
Where: 1600 Howe Street

The Galley

the galley

This low-key, counter service spot on Jericho Beach is absolutely a hidden gem in the city. Seriously though, you’re sitting directly on one of the best beaches in Vancouver. Grab a burger, a beer, and enjoy the views.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 11AM-8: 30 PM and Saturday/Sunday, 10AM-8: 30 PM
Where: 1300 Discovery Street

Nice, ok, another patio guide in the bag! We’re having a lot of fun with these, so expect us to keep pushing them throughout the summer. We want you to be patio royalty by the time September rolls around.
