Thinking of grabbing some takeout this weekend from a restaurant? First off, good for you for supporting local in a tasty way. But second, you can now grab a growler of beer from your favourite restaurant as well. Earlier this week, the BC government brought back takeout growlers from restos province-wide. Let’s check it out!

It’s no secret that the recent ban on indoor dining, while necessary, is going to wreak some havoc on Vancouver’s restaurant scene. So, just like when it happened last year, the BC government has returned to letting them use their kegs to fill growlers, instead of letting the beer inside expire (which would be a travesty).

Ok, maybe travesty is a little over-the-top, but it would be a bummer. And while BC restaurants have been able to sell other types of alcohol, like wine, hard liquor, and six-packs, the growler option hasn’t been available since last summer. So, we’re going to make sure to make the most of it.

If you’re feeling the same about takeout growlers coming back, then make sure to check out the press release from the provincial government. And, enjoy yourselves this weekend Vancouver!
