This Gastown resto serves up serious history and stunning flavours

First, their name. L’Abattoir is the French word for ‘slaughterhouse’, referencing the storied past of Blood Alley right behind the restaurant. As Vancouver’s original meatpacking district, Blood Alley got its name from, you guessed it, the blood running through the streets. Colourful.
Next, the food. Expect amazing dishes that highlight the region’s diversity and quality. From baked oysters to sweetbreads to honey-glazed duck, there’s little chance of not finding your new favourite dish here.
