While Vancouver’s rooftop scene isn’t as bustling as Toronto’s or New York’s – we’ve got a handful of top-notch options to toss your way if you’re craving a rooftop patio experience before summer’s end. While we wait for more highrises to jump on the train, here are 10 amazing rooftop patios to check out in Vancouver.

Open just in time for the hottest part of the summer is The Parker Rooftop, a soon-to-be hotspot for inventive eats and refreshing sips, all accompanied by sweeping views of the city from the ninth floor of The Parker Hotel (formerly Vintage Park Hotel). With 4,000 square feet of patio space and 20-foot-high ceilings, you’ll no doubt have a memorable time up here.

Take your pick from three sprawling outdoor patios and a wide selection of delicious sips – or try them all!

Looking for a solid happy hour hang? Look no further than Social on Commercial Drive – complete with delicious bites, bowls, and sips. Grab some brews or specialty cocktails and charcuterie, and you’re all set.

Reflections Terrace

Sitting on the 4th floor of the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, this spot is the closest you’ll get to feeling like you’re in Brooklyn. Reflections features a really solid cocktail list, some tasty small bites, and an exclusive atmosphere, adorned with fairy lights and hanging plants galore. Enjoy some refreshing cocktails and make sure to book a spot in advance!

Note that Reflections Terrace reopens for the season on April 17th.

Where: 801 West Georgia Street

Darby’s

A Kitsilano staple, the main draw of Darby’s is their rooftop patio. We think this is the spot to go when you have time for a pint in the middle of the afternoon because we hate waiting but love patios. Darby’s has the best beer selection on our Vancouver rooftop patio list – and who can resist the chill vibes of a Kits patio?

D6 Bar & Lounge

D6 is located within Parq Vancouver, and boasts stunning views of The Park and the city skyline. Sip on handcrafted libations all night long in front of a steam fireplace, peruse their collection of books, or even play a game of pool.

Where: 39 Smithe Street

Guu Garden

With a patio bigger than the restaurant itself, Guu Garden is great for entertaining large parties, and fans of double happy hours. The izakaya menu helps out as well since practically every dish is meant to be shared. We recommend trying anything that sounds good, we’ve yet to be disappointed.

Where: 888 Nelson Street

Joe Fortes

The quintessential spot for seafood in Vancouver also has a great rooftop patio. It’s the perfect place to kick your feet up after shopping on Robson or visiting the art gallery. All in all, it’s hard to deny that Forte’s has one of the best patios in Vancouver. We can certainly see why celebs like John Cena approve.

Another Vancouver staple, and right down the street from Joe Fortes. Maybe your relatives are in town from the prairies, and they’re not super into eating a ton of seafood. No problem, just head for some high-quality steaks on a rooftop patio. Or, come for a $13 burger and beer power lunch on Fridays (til 2 PM).

Where: 1032 Alberni Street

Vij’s

Located on Cambie street, the rooftop patio at Vij’s is the perfect spot to enjoy some sun through their glass ceiling (or twinkling lights at night) – and most importantly – some of the best Indian food in Vancouver.

Where: 3106 Cambie Street

Lift Bar and Grill

Located on a pier in Coal Harbour, Lift might just have the best views on this entire list. Pacific Northwest cuisine dominates the menu, and their happy hour features buck-a-shuck oysters. The best spot for your upcoming date with a person that just moved to the city and wants to chill by the water.

Where: 333 Menchion Mews

And that’s a wrap on some beautiful rooftop patios to take advantage of in Vancouver. Now get out there, and enjoy some sips with a view!
