Beloved spot Lee’s Donuts to close down on Monday
If you have any sort of sweet tooth whatsoever, this weekend is the time to satisfy it. That’s because the iconic Lee’s Donuts on Granville Island will be closing for several weeks on Monday. Sad face. The temporary closure is to allow for Lee’s to undergo renovations. Future happy face?
But, details are scarce on what exactly they’re changing up. Maybe they need to update their donut making equipment? Maybe they want to streamline the ordering process? Your guess is as good as ours, although we will reach out to them and see if they can give us the inside scoop.
Lee’s Donuts has been a part of Vancouver for over 40 years now. Opened in 1979, the shop has become a must-try for anyone visiting Granville Island. From the old-fashioneds to their stuffed donuts, Lee’s has truly perfected the art of donuts. It’s a real thing of beauty if we say so ourselves.
So, make sure you swing by the public market this weekend and kiss these donuts goodbye for a bit. Heck, if you’re feeling really adventurous, then maybe you should swing by the Royal City Donuts pop-up as well.
You know, for research purposes.
