A little look inside Van’s “strangest” brewery

At their name implies, Strange Fellows Brewing gets up to some pretty weird stuff every once in a while. Whether it’s an experimental brew, bingo night or a collaboration dinner, Strange Fellows never fails to keep us coming back.

Their tasting room is perfect for grabbing an after-work pint or hanging out on the weekends. Lots of space, communal tables, and a simple aesthetic means you get to focus on what’s important- friends and beers.

And boy do they do beer well. With an emphasis on Old World brewing techniques, you’re guaranteed to find a new favourite when you visit. It doesn’t hurt that they specialize in sours, either, which is our personal favourite type for the summer. Yeah, we’re hipsters, you can make fun of us.

Of course, if you wanted a stranger experience, then just sign up for their monthly events. These happenings range from Mother’s Day card-making to special dinners and lunches. At the end of May, they’ll be hosting a Spelling Bee.

Beers and spelling hard words? It’s the mid-30s New York Times reader’s fantasy.
