A delicious new plant-based cafe just opened on Main Street

Vancouver’s newest plant-based spot Kind Cafe just opened on Main Street, and is already generating a serious amount of praise. The new spot is billing themselves as both plant-based and eco-friendly, and based on their Instagram posts they’re not messing around.

Take, for example, their approach to straws. Obviously, they have to be compostable, but they also don’t want to use any international suppliers and they don’t want compostable plastics. Since paper straws are out of the question, they’re researching straws made of rice or wheat.

They’re also asking customers to bring in old plates and napkins to use instead of disposable ones. Basically, it’s like your most earth-aware, vegan friend has decided to open a coffee shop, and is sticking to their guns.

Based on the buzz on social media, Kind Cafe will be a new mainstay for plant-based dining in Vancouver. We like that idea since Vancouver has sort of become the hub for it in Canada.

So, next time you’re craving a healthy snack, head over here and check them out.
