Don’t let the name confuse you, this place makes amazing pho. Plus, they’re really close to the 99 and 9 bus so getting here is a breeze. The atmosphere is homey and the decor is classic. Moreover, the price point is pretty normal at just over $9 for a small bowl. This may end up being your new go-to spot!

Hanoi Pho

If you want amazing customer service to accompany your pho experience, Hanoi Pho is the spot to go. The owner will immediately make you feel at home. The pho is here is tasty and always made with love. It’s the perfect ‘neighbourhood spot’, but we’re taking the leap and telling you all about it!

Le Petit Saigon

This pho spot is an East Van institution, and you may have a hard time getting in here. But trust us, the wait is absolutely worth it! If you’re looking for a particularly fragrant broth, we think you’ll become a regular at Le Petit Saigon. That’s what sold us, at least.

Bun Cha Ca Hoang Yen

This pick is hands-down one of the best spots for Vietnamese food, and by extension pho, in the city. Try out the classic options first, then explore some of their seafood-based soup dishes, which is what they’re known for.

Do Chay Saigon Vegetarian

Vegan or not, you can’t pass up a bowl of the pho at Do Chay! The family recipe is chock full of delicious ingredients like broccoli tempura, avocado, yuba and bean curd. And here we were thinking that plant-based diets wouldn’t have a place on this list! Boy, were we wrong.

Anh and Chi

This spot along Main Street truly set the bar for modern Vietnamese cuisine in Vancouver. We recommend trying the classic Phở Hoàng with sliced beef sirloin, brisket, and meatballs with rice noodles and beef broth. It’s tasty, filling, and guaranteed to chase away the Vancouver blues.

The newest spot to be included in this list, Co’m also takes the prize for the best interior as well (sorry, Anh and Chi). As we all know, looks aren’t everything. So, make sure you verify their quality the same way we did- swing and eat a boatload of food with your friends!
