$3 million in emergency funding given to B.C. Food Banks
In an announcement this weekend, the Provincial Government pledged $3 million to the Food Banks of British Columbia. The new funding comes from the Community Gaming Grants program and will be distributed to locations all across the province. Let’s chat about why this is so important!
BC residents who were already facing food security issues now have to deal with low stock and reduced income. Heck, they could have already been laid off. Basically, the point we’re trying to make is that this is an essential initiative not just in Vancouver, but across BC.
As things are changing almost daily with #COVD19, our #BCfoodbanks are seeing higher volumes of individuals that need support as many are dealing with situations that are completely out of their control. Please call and connect with your local #BCfoodbank to see how you can help. pic.twitter.com/Yl5yBja7B0

The funding will be handled by Food Banks of British Columbia, which has access to 100+ food banks around the province. From Metro Vancouver to the northern reaches of the province, residents that are in need can look forward to more support in the coming days. Perfect, we’re happy to hear that the government is devoted to helping BC residents.
