Home of the Week: A mid-century modern dream home at UBC
Happy Monday, Vancouver! We’re going to interrupt your news cycle to take you to funky town. The best part is, it doesn’t involve you leaving home. Keep reading to learn all the wild deets on this home of the week at UBC.
Home of the Week: 5688 Newton Wynd
This home is just a lot but we think it has potential. It was built in 1949 and definitely has that post-war vibe but make it MCM (Mid-Century Modern, not the German bag company). So we think this home could be the perfect passion project for someone who is looking to live out their wildest MCM dreams.
Not to mention it has some pretty killer views, a pool, and a sizeable yard. So there are a lot of excellent things going for this house. Plus all the glass in this home is really doing it for us. Imagine all the wonderful light you’ll get. It will be perfect for taking pictures of your remodeling process to share with all your friends on social media.
But don’t get us wrong, this home has great bones. In fact, its so simple you might just want to do very little to it. And that’s fine too, whatever makes the dream work. We support you.
At 3,800 square feet, you’ll be living large in simplicity. But this comes at the coast of 15 million dollars. So if you’re ready to pony up for a big purchase maybe this UBC home will be it. But hey, you could also wait a few weeks and see if the price drops. Because we have a feeling Coronavirus might just make Vancouver affordable again. What a concept.
