Home of the Week: A Commercial Drive Hidden Gem
Welcome back to our home of the week series, Vancouver! Once again we have scoured the internet for the best house on the market, and this week’s feature is a doozy. Located on Commercial Drive, this infill took four years to build, including seismic upgrades to the building.
The space has got all the amenities you would expect in West Van, like an elevator, gym and even a 1000 bottle wine cellar. With 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, it would be easy to fit a family in here. In fact, there’s a grand total of 7300 square feet.
The house is being offered as a live/work space, and there’s more than enough room to fit a home office is the house if you want to. Heck, throw a couple in there.
No detail has been spared on the design, with clean, open rooms and a rooftop patio. Of course, if you get this spot you’ll be hosting all the dinner parties, so it’s an important feature to have.
Our favourite part of the house though is the garage (pictured at the top of the article). With space for 8 cars, this is the perfect place for those who want ‘project cars’ to work on during the weekends. Bonus points if you buy the current owner’s Porsches and turn them into track cars.
Of course, this lifestyle doesn’t come cheap, and the home has a price tag of just under $6.4M. Still, it’s a better investment than an estate in West Van, in our opinion.
