Happy Hour of the Week: Van’s best French cuisine for under $9
For this instalment of our happy hour of the week, we wanted to focus on a relatively underrated French spot in Gastown. Jules Bistro has been serving up absolutely delicious French fare since 2007, and they incorporate West Coast products whenever they can.
These guys offer lunch and dinner daily, plus they’ve got a weekend brunch menu. But, if you’re looking for a deal then their happy hour is definitely for you. Here’s why.

First, everything on the menu is only $8.50. Try some chili dusted calamari with ponzu sauce, then maybe dip your toes into the charcuterie and cheese plates. Of course, it would be silly of you to pass up on their truffle french fries, so make sure you grab those too.
As an added bonus, all of their rotating feature wine list is discounted during happy hour. That means only $6 for a glass or $30 for a bottle. Basically, you can live your dreams of drinking on the street in Paris right in Vancouver.
Which is exactly what you should do. Pick a weekend, pick a friend, and go spend a couple of hours hanging out at one of the best French restaurants in the city.
When: Daily, 2:30PM-5:30PM
Where: 216 Abbott Street
