Yaletown is hosting a huge FREE holiday festival this weekend
If you’re a fan of doing things for free we have the perfect Christmas event for you. Candytown is Downtown Vancouver’s only free winter festival that transforms Mainland, Hamilton and Davie streets into a winter wonderland. Lights and candy canes will adorn lamp poles and costumed characters will parade down the street. It definitely sounds better than feral clowns on the loose.
Holiday shoppers are invited to start their seasonal gift buying in Yaletown with local merchants as well as a specialty market carrying unique gifts and holiday treats. Stilt walkers and roaming holiday characters will interact with attendees and live music and caroling will set the stage for Yuletide cheer. CandyTown is the perfect excuse to get out and in the holiday mood without busting your wallet, its also a great excuse for people watching.
Visitors 19 and over can experience a self-guided Cocktail Tour featuring taverns seasonal menus and drinks. Enjoy a special concoction crafted in the spirit of CandyTown, you won’t find it anywhere else but in Yaletown on November 30. If that’s not a great excuse to get out of the house we don’t know what is.
CandyTown will be running for one day only on November 30th from 12 pm until 7 pm. One tip, take a photo with Santa or have a horse-drawn carriage ride because the proceeds from these activities will be going to the BC Children’s Hospital, Starlight Children’s Foundation, and the Rotary Club. There’s nothing better than helping others to bring in the holiday spirit.
When: Saturday, November 30
Cost: Free to attend!
