The jaw-dropping Vancouver Int’l Mountain Film Fest returns tomorrow
The Vancouver International Mountain Film Fest (VIMFF) starts tomorrow and is guaranteed to astonish you with jaw-dropping films and incredible speakers. If the mountains are calling and you must go, but you can’t, then definitely check this festival out.
To help you in choosing what events you’ll attend, we picked out some of the most interesting and exciting for us. Of course, if you want to just sit down and listen to the first blind person to climb Everest, you can do that too.
The list of speakers leaves no stone unturned, as they say. Ultramarathon runners, climbers, mountain bikers, environmentalists… You name it, and chances are there will be a speaker to suit your interest. Perfect for those of you who might be into the more obscure adventure sports.
As for films, well that’s the bread and butter of the festival. With over 50 screenings, the festival will explore the deepest of canyons to the tallest of peaks, and everything in between. No seriously, they’ve got a film that follows two people as they trek 750 miles through the Grand Canyon.
Also, and for good measure, there will be two workshops put on by the festival. So if you’re trying to break into the crazy world of adventure, then this is a great place to start.
