Tacofino to celebrate Pride Festival in a big way

The Vancouver Pride Festival is only a few weeks away, and Tacofino has announced that they will be celebrating the occasion a couple of different ways. What’s more, proceeds will be benefiting two local charities.

Here’s what Tacofino is getting up to during Pride weekend.

On Friday, Tacofino Gastown will be kicking off the weekend with a Drag Bingo night. Local drag queens Mina Mercury and Carlotta Gurl will be hosting four fierce rounds of competition. There’s a suggested cash donation of $10 per person to participate.

Over the weekend, all Tacofino locations will be offering a special ‘Te Amo’ cocktail, made with custom lavender-and-butterfly-pea-infused Cazadores Blanco, Aperol, housemade blueberry syrup and soda. The drink is priced at $12, with $2 from each sale going to charity.

As for the charities, Tacofino has partnered up with Vancouver Friends For Life Society, which provides support services to people living with life-challenging illnesses. They’re also partnering with Foundation of Hope, a charity that offers financial assistance to other charities actively supporting LGBT+ asylum seekers, refugees and newcomers.

So whether you make it out for Drag Bingo or just swing by for a drink, know that you’re supporting good causes.
