Check out this unreal festival of lights in the heart of Vancouver
Vancouverites, are you Christmas-ed out yet? Not before we talk about the VanDusen Festival of Lights, you’re not. Here, the season of festivities has just begun. We know that the plethora of options to choose from for holiday activities can be extremely stressful. But hey, this one is a Vancouver classic.
VanDusen’s Festival of Lights is in its 35th year of operation and is ready to dazzle you this winter. What makes VanDusen Festival of Lights especially special is that they’re partnering with Make-A-Wish Foundation for the 19th consecutive year. We love a festival that gives back.

More than a million lights will light up VanDusen Botanical Garden until January 5 from 4 until 9:30 pm. You could say, it’s going to be lit. HA!
This year VanDusen has some new festival offerings like a chocolate fondue tent, hummingbird and wooden owl sculptures, and a pop-up Portobello West Winter Wonderland Market from December 16 to 23. Oh, and if you’ve been jonesing for a picture with Santa, visitors can get a free photo with Santa until December 24 AND enjoy live musical performances in Santa’s Lodge on select nights. At that point, you might as well bring all your friends and forget about going out to a jazz club.
Now because VanDusen Festival of Lights has been going on for so long, it has some regulars meaning tickets are going fast. Get over there ASAP before you miss out!
