PNE Playland to turn into ‘Slayland’ for Halloween this year

Whew. For a second there, we were worried that Playland wouldn’t be doing anything for Halloween this year. Luckily, they just announced ‘Slayland’, starting in October! Here’s what you can expect if you decide to go.

Sadly, you won’t get to check out any haunted houses this year. Instead, the whole park will be turned into a ‘terrifying walk-through experience’. And, it will feature a bunch of nods to some past Fright Nights houses. It sounds like a fun mix of nostalgia and scary if you ask us. And fun!

Plus, Playland’s thrill rides will be open for these nights too! Who needs a haunted house when you can be terrified on The Beast, Atmosfear, or our personal pick- the Wooden Roller Coaster. Just watch Final Destination 3 before you go to get in the mood. Trust us, you’ll be screaming your lungs out.

While costumes are encouraged, you should know that no facepaint or ‘costume masks’ are allowed, while non-medical face masks are still required. We wonder how many people are going as doctors or nurses this year, and calling themselves ‘everyday superheroes’. You can take that idea from us, by the way.
