Playland and the PNE Fair are coming back this summer!

Good news everyone! This morning, the PNE released an update that said that since BC has now entered Phase 3, Playland and the PNE Fair are back on for summer! The PNE Fair and Playland were originally scratched this year back in April, but hey, Vancouver (and BC) worked hard to stop the spread.

There are a few things to look forward to. First off, the PNE will be hosting Canada’s first (and potentially only) reverse parade for Canada Day. Visitors will be encouraged to decorate their cars before heading down to the PNE to see live entertainment and displays. No word yet on fireworks, so fingers crossed there.

Next up is Playland. It’s scheduled to open on July 10th, and will feature 10-12 rides to enjoy for visitors. Playland will ensure that it follows provincial safety protocols to reopen, and they’re giving out free masks with admission, which is pretty sweet.

Finally, the PNE Fair will go down in the same drive-thru format as Canada Day. They’re going to try and get all the exhibits and entertainment back (Superdogs Safari, anyone?), but they’ll keep people posted leading up to the event itself.
