Looks like British Columbia is the new home of Sonic the Hedgehog. A couple of years after the latest movie filmed in and around the city, a Vancouver studio has been chosen to animate a new series coming to Netflix in 2022. Let’s check it out!

The name of the studio is WildBrain, and you might have already seen their work. Back in the day, they were the people behind Degrassi: The Next Generation. And, more recently, they were picked to revive The Peanuts, being placed in charge for The Snoopy Show on Apple TV.

So, they’ve definitely got some experience with iconic kids shows. The new Sonic series will be created in 3D, and will run for 24 episodes. Apparently, Sonic is going to find himself in a strange new multiverse, with some self discovery and redemption sprinkled in.

That’s what the press release is claiming, anyway. Good luck Wildbrain! We look forward to bingeing this with some sugary cereal on a Saturday morning.
