Here’s where you can see blooming cherry blossoms in Vancouver right now

Now that it’s officially spring, the peak bloom period for Vancouver’s cherry blossoms is rapidly approaching. In fact, the interactive map by the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival shows that much of Vancouver is already covered in a sea of pink and white.

With over 3,000 locations of cherry blossom trees and around 50 different varieties, the online map is a great resource to consult before heading out on a leisurely spring stroll.

You can search by neighbourhood or cultivar, or change the blooming dates to see what’s in bloom in the coming weeks.

Between Thursday, March 21st and the end of the month, these are the neighbourhoods with the most cherry blossoms in bloom:

  • West End and Coal Harbour
  • Oakridge and Langara area
  • East Vancouver
  • Killarney and Suncrest (Burnaby)
  • Dunbar-Southlands
  • South Cambie
  • Renfrew-Collingwood

Looking for specific spots to visit? Here are some of most popular parks and streets that transform this time of year:

  • Queen Elizabeth Park (adjacent to Pitch & Putt)
  • Stanley Park (along the seawall)
  • Vanier Park (near the back of the Museum of Vancouver)
  • Creekside Park (near Fisherman’s Wharf False Creek)
  • Creekside Park (near Science World)
  • Douglas Park
  • West 59th to West 70th
  • Champlaign Heights School Annex, south of Langford
