Canada’s largest aquarium is in B.C. and it will soon sparkle with over a million holiday lights

The Vancouver Aquarium is the largest in Canada, and as such, its holiday transformation is something to look forward to every year. Starting Nov. 12, 2025, its Holiday Splash festivities will be back in full swing, with the return of Scuba Claus and a picture-perfect holiday backdrop, the Jelly Snow Globe.

Those who visit the aquarium between Nov. 12 and Jan. 4 will be greeted by over one million glowing lights, bringing a whole new level of warmth and holiday cheer to all the exhibits and marine life.

Those who purchase an Axolotl stuffie from the Aquarium gift shop at 50 per cent off will be able to donate the plush toy to children in need through the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.

“For 95 years, the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau has been helping families experience the true spirit of the holidays through the generosity of our community,” says Chris Bayliss, executive director of the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. “The ongoing support from partners like the Vancouver Aquarium continues to make a meaningful difference. Their annual toy drive brings our community together and ensures that children and families across the region can share in the joy of the season.”

In addition to exploring holiday decor and immersive exhibits at every corner of the aquarium, visitors can once again make a magical splash with Scuba Claus, who will plunge into the water on specific days of Holiday Splash.

The dive show will be accompanied by the aquarium’s newest 4D experience, Penguins 4D.

Want to meet Santa for breakfast instead? The aquarium is hosting Breakfast with Santa on Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14, 21, 22, and 23, 2025, with 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. time slots available. Guests will be able to indulge in a festive feast with an appearance from Santa before he dives with the fish.

Admission to the Vancouver Aquarium is priced at $39.95 to $55.20 per person, with tickets available online.

So mark your calendars and get ready to immerse yourself in the holiday season.
