Every country would like to think they’re number one. But the fact is, no two countries are alike and no two are equal. So just which country really is the best in the world? It seems like quite a feat to rank but US News has an answer. Let’s see where the US ranks among the best countries in the world.

So how was this ranking determined? In total, 85 countries across 73 attributes were evaluated. The “attributes were grouped into 10 sub rankings, including entrepreneurship, agility and social purpose.” Let’s get into the rankings, drum roll, please…

Here are the overall top ten best countries in the world:

  1. Switzerland
  2. Germany
  3. Canada
  4. United States
  5. Sweden
  6. Japan
  7. Australia
  8. United Kingdom
  9. France
  10. Denmark

The land of the free and home of the brave did not top the list but that’s really no surprise. But we did top the list of the world’s most powerful and also agile countries which are as follows.
