Two magical skating trails are now open in Calgary & here’s where to find them

Winter is in full swing and while our feet are tired from lugging the rest of our bodies through another crazy year, we can’t wait to shove ’em into a pair of skates! This season, those looking to get their blades frosty can hit one of the two magical ice skating trails, now open in Calgary.

NORTH GLENMORE PARK

Under bright lights and tall trees, North Glenmore’s 730-metre strip can be found on the north end of the reservoir. Open 7 days a week guests are encouraged to bundle up, then head to the rink with a pair of skates (rented or otherwise.)

BOWNESS PARK 

Located alongside the beautiful Bow River, Bowness’s 1.6 km track is also open to Calgarians. In addition to the loop itself, guests can also hit their cross-country ski trail, and hockey rink and can rent an ice bike.

Where: 8900 48 Ave. NW, Calgary

Of course, while on either sheet of ice, the city asks that you be safe, wear helmets, and skate smart!
