This private island in BC is up for sale for the first time ever

Awe yeah, who doesn’t want to check out a private island in BC, and especially when it’s on the market for the first time ever? Held by the same family for some six decades, Turnagain Island (and a nearby lot for extra convenience) is up for sale. Let’s check it out!

The island is just off the Sunshine Coast Highway, roughly halfway between Madeira Park and Sechelt. A natural wonder, Turnagain Island offers over 93 acres of forest and coastline, with some old-growth forest in there for good measure. And of course, you can expect stunning views on all sides.

As for buildings on the property, you’ve got two to choose from. Our first pick? A custom-built main home with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and ample living space. Throw a home gym in there, maybe a hot tub out back, and you’ll be cruising in comfort. That’s our recommendation at least.

The nearby guest cottage is almost as nice, too. Although older, it still offers 2,800 sq. ft. of living space and the same number of bedrooms and bathrooms. One thing’s for sure, whoever buys this place is going to have no problem hosting friends and family for weekend getaways.

Of course, the potential here is pretty much sky-high. In addition to existing storage spaces and a single-track trail running through the island, there’s also a 100-ft dock to accommodate float planes (or a yacht, if that’s more your vibe). Still not enough? Apparently, it’s super easy to get a helipad in there.

And the final bonus here is there nearby lot. Literally a stone’s throw away, it’s used as a staging area for accessing the island, with two boathouses and ample parking. Easy peasy access, even if you’re not getting flown in and out!

So, add it all up and you’ve got a seriously amazing private island for sale in BC. What’ll it cost you? A cool $15M, or less that a waterfront home in Vancouver. Not a bad deal, all things considered.
