This Ontario park has a beach with pristine sand and calm blue waters

Beaches in Ontario seem almost endless, with so many to choose from, it’s hard to pick just where to go. We’re here to make it easier on you. With a beautiful, sandy shoreline and clear blue waters, Turkey Point Provincial Park offers an escape from reality at its beach.

About a two-hour drive southwest of Toronto is Turkey Point, Ontario, and its provincial park.

According to Ontario Parks, this little piece of nature caters to everyone’s needs whether that be camping, hiking, supporting local businesses, or simply a day at the beach.

Turkey Point has three hiking trails within or near the park – Lookout Bluff Trail ends on the edge of the bluff overlooking Long Point Bay; Fin & Feather Trail guides you along the old hatchery pond to the Normandale Fish Hatchery; Oak Savanna Trail is a shorter, much easier walk.

Other available activities include biking, birding, canoeing, and fishing. But we’re here to talk about the beach.

Per Ontario Parks, the beach is located in the village, steps away from local restaurants and shops.

It has a two-kilometre-long shoreline, offering ample space for families to find a spot away from the hustle and bustle.

“The beach is very sandy and safe for swimmers, especially children. There are no lifeguards posted so parents and guardians must be responsible,” state Ontario Parks.

Fee

According to Ontario Parks, the cost of a Day Use permit depends on the time of the year whether it be on or off-season, and by park. Entry fees for vehicles start at $12.25, senior pricing begins at $9.75. “For park-specific fees, please contact the park directly.”

It’s never a dull moment here in Ontario, and there are so many lesser-known beaches waiting to be discovered, too.

Go out and explore this beautiful province, you deserve it.
