Summer time and the livin’ is easy! Summer days are meant to be spent on the water and we found the perfect way to do so. Tubing the Grand is an excursion that takes you on an 8 KM float through the Grand River in Cambridge – here’s everything you need to know.

According to Tubing the Grand, “You can float with the current but you can also criss-cross the river and explore the islands. Tubes are also known as Solo Rafting. They’re stable, comfortable and suitable for fit beginners.”
If you’re looking for a more relaxing experience you can float with the current, if you want a little adventure you can criss-cross the river and explore the multiple small islands along the way.
There will be plenty of sights to see including a protected eagle habitat and osprey nesting areas.
The 1,000-acre protected nature reserve that surrounds you as you float is sure to have other exciting things to see too.
The final kilometre of the adventure takes you to a stunning 50-foot limestone bluff with a waterfall – don’t forget to snap some photos!

The excursions are daily between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM with booking availability found here.
Tube rentals start at $36 for children 10 and under, $38 for anyone asked 10-16 and $40 for adults.
You’ll have four hours to enjoy the tubes with the 8 KM trek estimated to take around two hours to complete.
